Oh dear...

I ended up partying tonight. It's Wednesday! Well, technically I suppose it's Thursday. Ouch, this is going to hurt in the morning. We started at Spice Route and then ended up at lobby. The vodka-cran would have been okay... if it hadn't been for the mystery vodka shots with lime around midnight. And it's too late to place a booty call! I need a younger booty buddy. Someone who answers his phone after midnight. Urgh...

I'm not sure I can party on a weeknight anymore. Sad but true.

Apparently I can't either! Urgh.

In the minute I sat staring at a blank comment screen, thinking how to showcase the word "louche," it occured to me that it could have a related second meaning: how someone who's had a few too many might slur a description of her current amatory disposition.

Cheers, E

Ummmm, E... what?? Maybe I'm too hungover and will achieve clarity later in the day. Feel free to translate in the meantime!

Sorry, that was obscure wasn't it? Saying "loose" (the erotic attitude of the moment) after having had a few may come out as "loosh", which is the pronunciation for "louche." And if it takes that long to explain it, it wasn't a very good joke to begin with, I suspect.

Cheers, E

I've never been bootie-called. Seriously, do you have any idea how much more exciting your life is than mine? I might just have to start living vicariously...

E, I did actually get that later in the afternoon. The reason it didn't come to me immediately is because I don't think I'm "loose". The dictionary defines loose as being sexually promiscuous or immoral; unchaste. I might be unchaste (almost certainly I am!) but I don't think that having the same partner for over a year is promiscuous or immoral, but that depends entirely on your particular belief set. A lot of people judge me for having a non-traditional relationship with Grey. Fine, we don't have the same boundaries as most people but we do have boundaries. I'm done justifying them to people who choose to read this blog. If that makes me loose, then so be it.

GH - vicarious post coming up...

I think I owe you an apology, E.B. My feeble attempt to be playful with words ended up as a poor characterization of your relationship. You're right about the connotations for the word loose. Had I been thinking more clearly, I would have realized that. I guess the drinking/booty call bit had put an association in my mind that amorous feelings were at that point more free. That was what I meant by loose, but I can certainly see how the stricter moral sense of the word is what most people would have read into it.

Sorry about that.

E, no apology necessary, although I do appreciate the tail between legs sentiment. Am I allowed to request less obscurity in future please?
