Not that into me

I think it ended badly. I say "I think" because it all happened so fast. He was cold and cruel and angry and distant. I'm not sure why he even phoned me today. I cried so hard, sitting on the hallway floor with my face in a towel worrying whether the neighbours would hear. Then I went out to see He's Just Not That Into You with a girlfriend. Unfortunately, I learned nothing new because I've read the book backwards and inside out about eleventy bajillion times. Now I have a headache and feel utterly nauseated. I'm waiting for my clean sheets to come out of the dryer so that I can cry myself to sleep in bamboo-cotton papyrus blend. I just have one question. If I can't spot the jerks, how am I supposed to avoid them? Maybe they're all jerks.

Awkward, for you said...

they are all jerks until they prove otherwise! You can't spot them. They fake it in the beginning until they become realize that they have grabbed hold of your little heart and then they turn the JERK on full blast.
I'm sorry it didn't work out. There are a million things i could say to you to try to make you feel better but i know they won't. All i know is that movies cure and one that does a hell of a job is High Fidelity starring John Cusack. It helps me a lot when someone has ripped my heart out through my ass.

There are nice ones out there, i promise! It's just really hard getting through the jerks with enough self esteem to take the time to find the nice ones.

Thanks. That does help a lot actually :)

There's no shortage of jerks, that's for sure. I guess he phoned when he really didn't want to because he felt obligated because of your am-I-going-to-get-a-call e-mail, then he got all churlish about it. None of that's really a sign of maturity. He may have hurt your feelings, but you're probably better off without him.

Sorry it didn't work out. Wish there was something I could do. Maybe I should call you. I think you gave me your number. Didn't you? I dunno, can't recall... and now I've got Peter Gabriel in my head. ;)

LA is ahead of the trend on many things. Maybe the women here are taking the upper hand and blowing me off before I even have the chance to be a jerk. It would certainly explain a lot...
