I heart NYC

I really do. I only met one person who doesn't love NYC. That person is the mother of a friend I grew up with. They're close, close family friends. She (the mom) has retired to a sleepy village in India and complained about the noise and traffic and traffic in New York. The groom's mother told her that nobody in India can complain about the noise and traffic in NYC. She makes a good point. NYC is a lot like India and a lot like Hong Kong. It's loud, it's fast, it's noisy and it's smelly.

It's friggin' fabulous. It felt like I had finally come home. I would live there in a heartbeat. Not forever. But for a couple of years. Anyone wanna come with?

I think maybe you're one of those types of people that feeds off of the energy that comes from masses of people living in close proximity to one another. I think I'm exactly the opposite: I prefer the wide open spaces and generate my energy from that.

Or maybe it's that having lived in a city with 8 million neighbors for 10 years, I'm ready for some small-town 'livin. :)

Actually GH, I'm definitely both. I would live in rural Canada in a heartbeat if I didn't have to travel for work. Some of my best times were when I spent a year working in northern BC on a pulp mill. I love the peace and quiet as much as I love the big city. I guess I'm an oxymoron. Or some sort of moron!

Babylon is great for a visit, but I'm sure I wouldn't want to live there.
